Long Run

Here's my check in with my long run for the week.

Saturday was my long run at 5 miles. MB was kind enough to run with me. An hour is a long time for me to run alone right now. We did laps around the pond near his casa. It was slow and steady. I did have to stop to adjust my laces a few times and finally removed my right sock for the last 2.5 miles. After that it was smooth sailing. Total time was 5.15 miles in 1:06 ~ 12.82 mm (including warmup). Felt good afterwards and no soreness all weekend. Drank 1 ozarka bottle. No nutrition.

Hope my 6 miles this weekend goes as well!

Yeah, but I was much more tired the rest of the day Saturday than you were. Let me know whether you want me to try the 6 miles with you this Saturday -- here in Mesquite. If so, I may have to clear the rest of my day for laying about and get my wife's permission to waste the day away.

I'm definitley thinking about it; I like the course around the lake since it allows for multiple water drops and doesn't put you three miles away if something goes wrong.

I'd have to see if Mom is willing to give up another Sat morning though...

By the way, can someone calculate 12.82 into min and sec pace for me?

Give her a call. By the way, I do not mind if Jeff watches your kids.

12.82 translates into 12 minutes 49.2 seconds per mile. Subtract 12 from 12.82 = .82. Multiply .82 x 60 seconds = 49.2 seconds. Add 12 and 12.82 minutes per mile = 12 minutes 49.2 seconds per mile.

By the way, does MM want to "run" with us during our 6 mile "run" this Saturday?

I thought I already mentioned that if we run Saturday mornings before 10am DH will NEVER be available to watch the kids. So we might as well quit briging it up. He plays every Saturday (including Holidays) and it's one thing I would not ask him to give up. If I'm having a baby or one of us is in emergency surgery then he will not be playing...

I did forget to mention that it's open-house day this Saturday at LTF if anyone wants to run in Plano and then go swimming...

The downside is that if we have a group you'd have to hear the membership spill.

I have no prob coming to Mesquite if I get a sitter...just wanted to let ya'll know!

Saturday morning sounds like fun. My obstacle is that DH (Dear Husband) is getting off of work at 2:AM that day, which makes it hard for him to watch the kiddos so early. Hey Jen, if you get a baby sitter.. maybe my kids could play with your kids, and we could all get together. Let me know if you made the call to your Mammy, and I'll try to butt in with my kids. If it's a no-go, then I'll just show up with the jogging stroller.

So I also did a long run today. I went four miles, at a nice easy pace. I am still pretty tired. I usually need a nap to get over my long run.. which usually happens around 11:Pm.. ha ha ..

MM - Gma Gibbons said ok for all the kids on Saturday.
